Weirdest Catch

I’ve caught some pretty crazy things while fishing, but this one tops them all.

On November 2nd, I was fishing the Mississippi Pool 4, up near the dam.

After setting the hook on another sauger and reeling it in, I noticed something different about this one. It had looked like it had another fisherman’s yellow plastic coming out of its gills.

Once in the boat, I realized it was a rubber bracelet! I’m not sure if someone at some point had slipped this over the fish and released it, or if it was floating across the bottom and this particular fish thought this was a meal and somehow ended up swimming through it.
