Whitewater

Decided to go to whitewater today to chase trout since it was an absolute blast the last time I was down here.

Today the water looked like chocolate milk with visibility being less than 6 inches. We switched up out technique today and went with bright colors.

We used a Clam blade jig with a larger hook since we were missing many strikes. I threaded a whole night crawler on to the jig.

Casting into the current seam and slowly retrieving it enticed the fish to bite. Lots of very nice quality trout were caught today, with many more being released.

If you haven’t tried fishing down there, give it a shot. With miles of river and beautiful scenery you’re sure to catch fish and have a great time. Whitewater state park also offers camping sites, showers, and a beach as well. Check it out!
