Summer comes and that has many families hitting the road for their family vacation ritual. Everyone goes in their own directions and ours led us to the great state of MN, visiting family and of course spending many hours fishing.
Summer fishing is almost in full gear, the waters have gotten to the 70’s, degree mark and that has the weeds growing very well. Fish are relating to these weeds as they move into their summer patterns.
Post spawn largemouth can be tricky! Especially on a high-pressure lake like Minnetonka, however with dedication and time, you can boat some big fish from that big ol body of water. With a calm breeze and some over cast skies the fish were in the mood to eat.
With water temperatures rising above the 70-degree mark, this has the fish moving off the shorelines and out to their deeper summer patterns. Summer pattern means deeper weed beds, weed lines and off shore structures.
Pulling up to a boat landing and looking at the license plates will forever be an interest of mine. As many of you now know, Mille Lacs Lake is one of the best smallmouth lakes in the country if not the best.
